Emerging of the river Madhuvahini and glory of Gauri Siddhi





Vaishampayana said — О Janamejaya, with the fall of Madhu at Puskara, all the living beings felt delighted. They started dancing and singing loudly.

Mountain Suparsva with its golden peaks, looked like drawing a line in the sky, Because of the several metals contained in it, its peaks looked wonderful.

Other mountains having been decorated with several metals, with their high peaks, appeared like the clouds with lightnings.

The coal dust flying with the fluttering of the wings of the birds, covered the moutain peaks, with the particles of sand, which looked like the clouds.

Their peaks were covered with the clouds. They with their.wings were spreading the trees, which laid bare the gold mines. In this way the mountains looked as if standing in the sky.

Adorned with the wings and the peaks, decorated with the golden metals, and struck with the force of the wind, those mountains frightened the birds flying in the sky.

All the mountains were of golden complexion and the crystal gems were spread over them. All of them were illuminating with the rays of the jasper and the moon stones.

Himavan — the great mountain, was covered with the white metals, the tops of its peaks, getting resplendent with sun-rays, capped with golden colour. The gems appearing through its wings, made its wings resplendent. The red flowers added to its grace. Besides the self resplendent peaks enhanced its beauty.

Mandaracala mountain with terrific peaks, were filled with the heaps of crystal gems. The diamonds were hidden in the same with its shelterless peaks, which looked graceful like the heaven.

Decorated with rocks and metals, the Kailasa mountain with a thousand peaks, looked charming with tall trees resembling the high gates.

The Gandharvas who played on various musical instruments, the apsaras and kinnaras who were decorated with several types of cosmetics, added to the beauty of the mountain, which appeared like the sporting ground (of the gods).

The songs accompanied with sweet music, the lively dancing, passionate dancing, display of different poses, the Kailasa mountain appeared like play ground of the lord of love.

Like the heap of black cool having been chiselled out over its peaks, the Vindhya mountain appeared like the blue clouds, which are shattered.

For the sustance of lives of all the living beings, all the clouds dropped heavy rain over the Meru mountain.

The mountain displayed great splendour, with the wodnerful rocks, several types of metals, besides the water which was spotless like the crystal gems, and flowed from the gates of the caves.

The trees were blossoming with beautiful flowers, covered in the rainy season and looked like the clouds with lightning or otherwise they looked like the elephants having been decorated with gold ornaments.

The creepers, in which the birds had hidden themselves, were climbing over the trees looked like dancing with the blowing of the wind.

During the month of Vaisakha, the creepers, immensely shaken with the wind were showering the merits in the same way as the sea waves spread the water drops after striking with seashore.

The huge trees, in which a large number of banches, trunks, roots are present, such types of large number of blossoming trees appeared like supporting the earth.

The intoxicated black-wasps, who like the flower dust, cuckoo and other birds, while singing, anounce at arrival of KamacLeva.

Lord Visnu, the destroyed of Daitya - Madhu, then created a river named Madhu Vahinl, which started flowing from its source. The river starting from excellent tirtha, was filled with enough of water. Its sand was of the colour of the burning coal. The river which resembled the Madhutirtha attracted the mind. It was filled with the spotless clean water. Heaps of flowers flowed in the current of its water.

At the command of Brahma, the said river entered the place of Puskara. The Rishis who were the followers of Brahma, also followed it.

Thereafter with the start of the great yajna, at the instance of Brahma, the earth took to the form of a cow and started flowing in the streams of milk.

The milk so yielded by the cow, filled a tank in the form of earth, which was established for the use of the living beings. It appeared in its pure and eternal form.

The milk having emerged from Sarasvatl, destroys the miseries and darkness, crossing the auspicious Maru tirtha, is spread in Puskara the place of Brahma.

The beautiful and unborn Sarasvatl, taking to the illusory form covers the supreme golden form of that place. With a curious mind, alone, one can be face to face with Brahman in his divine form.

Then suddenly a great mountain appeared there, with the natural fragrance and was quite free. It had a vast gate and his life. It had been termed as eternal. It is served by the siddhas (even then what to speak of the fools).

О Janamejaya, the giver of enormous daksina, the said mountain is graced by wonderful pedestals. The Puskara tirtha is the place of Brahma, who as an archetect, and the creator of the universe.

As the Mahameru mountain is made of the fire metals, similarly (the place of Brahma) is surrounded by the five bhiitas. It has a wonderful shape and possesses the well known consciousness. cbRbUlHgqiifrl'MHUI suiyiRuiqj

(Now treating himself to be separate from the supreme soul, and "I am the performer of everything." He is establishing the tattx>a in the way.) I am the performer of dharma and create body with my mental imagination. The different shapes appearing in the world, are created by me. The consciousness found in the body, is displayed by me alone.

With the use of my five sense organs I came to know about the happenings of the three worlds. The mind is the sixth organ and is diverted to the following of the religious practices.

The advanced people, in combination with the siddhis (success) witness them variously. Then freeing themselves of all the attractions exercise control over the mind, which is attracted towards the worldly pleasures, intelligence, sense organs and the pranas. Such people are entitled to achieve knowledge of tattva.

Mostly all the people are bound in the five faced body, influenced with the Vedic teachings engage themselves in the actions with desires. Therefore, no one can achieve as per the desire of his mind, which is the supreme soul.

Those who adore Rama, Krishna or Visnu, with a devoted mind repeatedly they reducing their sins to ashes with their Capas, such of my devotees can have an audience with me (face to face).

A persons who following the path of dharma, climbing the step of sadhana or meditation climb the palace of formless Brahman, such noble people, getting relieved of the sins, become victorious in the heaven and have a meeting with me.

The high mountain lodged over the peak of the Meru mountain, the people with spotles minds, by climbing the same and to discend the attraction of the sense organs, they make all the efforts.

The people desirous of attaining siddhi or success, moving as fast as the mind, reaching the Nandana or the vast KdmyaUa- vana, meet the apsaras and roam about with them.

My devoties, achieving the knowledge perform several types of anusthanas, making their bodies lean and then.

Such a person, achieving success in many fields, getting several of his desires fulfilled, rise up gradually and keep roaming about in the present and the future world.

When the yogis with a concentrated mind, display the aforesaid influence of their tapas then goddess Gauri getting pleased, appears before then, who is well known in the world as the goddess siddhi.

With the internal and external differences of karmas, the image of the lord is conceived in subtle as well as the grass forms. The sutratma and antaryami combined with Virat, are the six states of samyama. (In other words, there are the six jnana-sandhis and the complete knowledge of the same, fades out the possions in a person, which result in the achievement of the yogic fortunes. They do not start any work themselves and are freed from the five worldly bondages.

As a person by committing a crime, gets himself after paying a thousand times more tax to the king, earning his pleasure, similarly a religious minded or a saintly person, by honouring the Brahmasas large heartedly and by performing the selfless deeds with a spotless mind besides giving away the charities reaches the Brahmaloka with all his ancistus and achieves the everlasting blissful reward, which relieves one of all his miseries.

Such of the yajamahas and the Brahmanas perform the yajnas with the concentration of their minds, such yajamanas and others, taking the ceremonial baths in many yajhas, again achieve the excellent rewards.

O king, the way you consider a riches of charities and the yajha feel to be present before you, similarly in case you consider Brahma Vidya Gauri, to be present before you, then you should stop believing so hence forth. Because the goddess Gauri, in order to shower all her grace over all the living beings, mentally observes dharma. (The ourward riches are limited, but the internal wealth of knowledge is without limit).

The soul is an unobstructed truth, but it moves away from an ignorant person. There is no doubt about it. The people who follow the dharma selflessly, their so following does not go work. (Therefore with the following of dharma, with a spotless mind, one can become face to face with the soul).
